Blood Lust (from publisher):Once top soldiers for the Vampire Regulation Force, Kane Toren and his two younger brothers were the ones to call for missions no one else could handle. They were feared by everyone and respected by all. That ended in one horrible night, when an entire human family was slaughtered and the brothers were falsely accused, imprisoned and disgraced.
Ten years later, Kane is out of prison and struggling to support himself and his brothers by taking jobs no self-respecting vampire would accept. Then on Halloween Night a beautiful female Drone vampire, named Toni, shows up at his door seeking his help. There is no way Kane can turn her away, even though he knows she, too, is harboring demons from her own dark past.
Despite all that, they find themselves drawn to each other. But, can they let go of the past long enough to embrace the future?Review: This is a fast paced paranormal Halloween tale. Blood Lust is the first in the Drone Vampire Chronicles series. Kane and Toni are both excellent characters. It contains a nice blend of action, adventure, romance and eroticism all done in a comfortable voice and is easily approachable. I dislike complicated story lines that have so much information crammed into them it is hard to follow the plot. Not so with Blood Lust. The author has done and excellent job with this tale and has setup a world (I would love to further explore) without complicating Blood Lust with overly detailed back story. Unfortunately for me, the rest of the tales in this series are m/m or m/m/f. I am not a fan of that genre. If you are, then I would definitely pick up this keeper and reread as a start and then check out the rest of the series. Hey, you could even let me know how the books are.
